Due to the agreement signed by the spanish standardisation and certification association (AENOR) with CTIC foundation, in Asturias, and European Software Institute (ESI-Tecnalia), in Basque Country, from this moment on, no new certifications will be granted using the Web Accessibility Certification trademark.
As a result of the agreement a new certification system has been developed, following the "UNE 139803:1994 Aplicaciones informáticas para personas con discapacidad. Requisitos de accesibilidad para contenidos Web" standard, which is based on W3C's Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG)) and thus is compatible with them.
The new certification ensures private organisations and public administration that their websites comply with the requirements of the standard and provides an excellence seal to their Internet presence. Furthermore it helps as a guide when defining contract clauses and improves customer trust.
Through this agreement, CTIC and ESI will provide AENOR with qualified technical inspectors who will analyse the accessibility level of websites, servicios técnicos mediante inspectores cualificados que analizarán el grado de accesibilidad de las páginas web, both in companies and in institutions. This website evaluation process includes both automatic and manual review techniques.
These specialists will work in accordance with the current product certification procedures and the ethical code established by AENOR, especially, in everything related to the independence with consultancy and assessment services.
If you would like to get more information, or request the new certification, fill in the following form or go to www.accesible.aenor.es.
